Este etern si adevarat si daca ne-am aduce cu totii aminte de ideea principala am fi mult mai multumiti cu noi insine si cu restul omenirii.

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.
We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now.
If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said:

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin -
real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life".

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness.
Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until fall, until winter, until you are off welfare, until the first or fifteenth, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink, until you've sobered up, until you die, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Ne convingem pe noi insine ca viata ne va fi mai buna dupa ce ne casatorim, dupa ce avem un copil, apoi altul. Si suntem frustrati cand copiii nu sunt suficient de mari - vom fi mai impliniti cand se vor mari. Dupa un timp suntem frustrati ca avem adolescenti cu care sa [dealuim]. In mod sigur vom fi fericiti cand vor trece de faza aceasta. Ne spunem ca viata ne va fi completa cand sotul/sotia se vor comporta mai bine, cand o sa avem o masina mai frumoasa, cand o sa fim capabili sa mergem intr-o vacanta speciala, cand vom iesi la pensie.

Adevarul este ca nu e un alt moment mai potrivit sa fim fericiti decat acum.
Daca nu acum, atunci cand?

Viata ta va fi intotdeauna plina de probleme. E mai bine sa admiti acest lucru si sa decizi sa fii fericit in ciuda acestui fapt.

Unul dintre citatele mele favorite este al lui Alfred D. Souza:

"O perioada lunga se parea ca viata mea este aproape sa inceapa - viata adevarata. Dar intotdeauna era un obstacol in drum, ceva ce trebuia rezolvat mai intai, ceva neterminat inca sau o datorie neplatita. Si apoi viata va incepe. Intr-un final am inteles ca toate aceste obstacole erau viata mea".

Aceasta perspectiva m-a ajuta sa inteleg ca nu exista un drum catre fericire.
Fericirea este drumul.

Deci: pretuieste fiecare clipa pe care o ai si pretuieste-o inca si mai mult pentru ca ai impartit clipa cu cineva special, suficient de special sa impartaseasca timpul tau... si adu-ti aminte ca timpul nu asteapta pe nimeni.

Deci: inceteaza sa astepti sa termini scoala, sa te intorci la scoala, sa slabesti, sa te ingrasi, sa ai copii, sa plece copiii de acasa, sa incepi sa lucrezi, sa te pensionezi, sa te casatoresti, sa divortezi, sa fie vineri seara, sa fie duminica dimineata, sa iti cumperi o masina noua sau o casa, sa iti platesti casa sau masina, sa fie primavara, sa fie vara, sa fie toamna, sa fie iarna, sa gasesti de lucru, sa fie intai sau 15 ale lunii, sa iti auzi cantecul, sa ai o bautura, sa te trezesti din betie, sa mori, sa te renasti ca sa decizi ca nu este alt moment mai bun ca sa fii fericit decat chiar acum.

Fericirea este calatoria, nu destinatia.
